GET INVOLVED

National Public Lands Day was founded in 1994 to support stewardship projects and volunteer partnerships for America’s public lands. In Nevada, projects are held on Public Lands Day at sites all across the state, coordinated by agencies and a variety of volunteer organizations.

These partnerships for the stewardship of our public lands are essential in ensuring America’s treasured landscapes exist for the enjoyment of future generations of our state. Nevada’s observance of Public Lands Day honors the importance of public lands, and the partnerships vital to their stewardship.

Help us spread the word about Nevada’s public lands and our state’s observance of Public Lands Day through social media by using the hashtag #NevadaPLD.

Governor Brian Sandoval and the Nevada Legislature have issued their support for Public Lands Day on behalf of the State of Nevada. Now it’s your community’s turn!

Submit this sample proclamation to your town, city or county government and ask them to show their support for Public Lands Day in Nevada!
